Stewardship Committee
Purpose and Role
To explore and pursue an annual program to encourage stewardship of time, talent and resources among church members, initiate and organise events and programs that encourage a spiritual understanding of stewardship at Good Shepherd, and to assist church members to deepen their lives of prayer and service, that their relationship with God may be strengthened, and they are better able to live out the Baptismal Covenant.

Purpose and Role

Current Responsibilities
- Research opportunities for a broad spectrum of stewardship practices in the congregation, including for children and Latino members.
- Organize the annual pledge drive.
- After consultation with the Rector, submit any proposals with recommended action plans, to the Vestry, including costs.
- Act on approved proposals.
- Organize materials, resources, publicity, and volunteers for events
- Evaluate events and invite feedback from the participants.
- Liaise with the Rector, staff and volunteers to ensure good communication.
- Liaise with the Church Secretary to ensure timely reimbursements for expenses.
- Publicise events and initiatives by providing information/fliers for The Call, the church’s website and the church Facebook page.
Reporting
- A summary report of each meeting will be presented in written form to the Vestry
- Proposals for Vestry approval to be sent to the Rector by the second Tuesday of the month
- Prepare an annual report for the Annual Church Meeting
- Monitor and record expenditure (for future budget setting purposes)
Committee Size:
- Ideally five/six person committee
- The committee appoints the chairperson and a Minutes clerk
- The Committee will set a regular day and time to meet each month
