Build community and friendship at Good Shepherd

Choir
Good Shepherd has a small but active choir. Under our last Director of Music, we expanded our repertoire to include both modern and classical religious music. This included chanting the psalms and providing special music at high holy days.

Good Shepherd has participated in sung evensong services at St. Mark's Cathedral and at the consecrations the Episcopal Bishops of Utah, including that of Bishop Phyllis Spiegel in September 2022.

We are currently searching for a new Director of Music to help us rebuild after the disruption caused by Covid-19. The traditional choir practice time has been Wednesday evenings at 7pm. We anticipate resuming rehearsals when a new Director of Music has been selected.

We invite anyone who loves to sing and enjoys the musical tradition of the Episcopal Church to join us.

Episcopal Church Women
Episcopal Church Women is a group for all women of the parish to plan events that support Good Shepherd Church in various ways.
Two major highlights of ECW's work include a Harvest Bazaar in the fall for the community that raises money for the church and community outreach and a holiday tea for the women of the church.
Coffee Hour
Every Sunday after services, members linger over coffee and treats to visit with each other and newcomers interested in learning more. This informal visitation time is held in Tuttle Hall every Sunday immediately after the 10:30 a.m. service.
We invite all to stay and chat awhile.

Photo of the prayer: May God's grace be upon this shawl, warming, comforting, enfolding and embracing. May this mantle be a safe haven, a sacred place of security and well-beling, sustaining and embracing in good times as well as difficult ones. May the one who receives this shawl be cradled in hope, kept in jou, graced with peace, and wrapped in love. Blessed Be!

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Parishioners who knit and crochet create prayer shawls. The group’s mission is to provide comfort and support through gifts of hand knit or crocheted shawls and throws to be given to friends, family and parishioners. When a shawl is ready to give to the individual, they gather as a group, placing hands on the shawl and together recite a blessing  prayer, shown at left. The presentation card is personalized with the recipient’s name, the name of the knitter, and the date that the gift was blessed by the knitting group.
The group also creates beanies for premature babies in the Ogden area.
To join the group, contact Linda Garner through the church office.
