Twining of the Greens
Mark your calendars on December 22nd for the annual “Twining of the Greens.” In this annual tradition, parishioners take leftover Christmas trees and twine them into garlands to decorate the chapels. This year we will twine the greens, decorate the Christmas tree in Tuttle Hall and have a Potluck Supper. Plan to meet at Good Shepherd at 5 p.m. to join the various work parties of your choice. The following teams will be working:
Twine the greens and then place them in the Sanctuary and clean up after they are placed.
Decorate the Tuttle Hall (which is all artificial greens) and clean up after the decorating.
Setup the Potluck meal and clean up following the meal.
If you are new to our congregation, you are invited to bring a Christmas ornament to add to the Christmas tree. If you are a long-time member and have not brought an ornament in the past you are also invited to bring an ornament from your family to add to the tree. Wear your jeans, bring wire cutters, pruners and work gloves. We will also have a team of men to place all the wooden supports for the greens prior to this Sunday event. Contact Tim Wilson through the church office to plan the date if you can help. We all share a wonderful meal after all the decorating and cleaning up has been done. Please plan to join us for the fun of working together to prepare our worship and social spaces (as well as your own hearts) for the Christmas celebration and get to know your fellow parishioners. Watch the bulletin board outside the Office and Attic for the signup sheets.
